Peace Region athletes representing Alberta at the Western Canada Summer Games

The opening ceremonies for the Western Canada Summer Games go Friday night in Swift Current. Saskatchewan.

There will be 340 athletes from 57 different communities, plus 83 coaches, managers, and Mission Staff on Team Alberta

Seven of those athletes, along with one coach and one member of the Mission Staff, are from the Peace Country. They come from a half-dozen different communities.

The group includes baseball player Tyler Herron from the County of Grande Prairie and softball player Josh Kinee from Fairview.

Swimmer Jordan Greber, triathlete Mairen Lawson, wrestler Jason Pangracs, and track and field competitor Myah Sluik are all from Grande Prairie.

Sexsmith’s Keyana Anderson is also competing in athletics.

Manning’s Eric Henitiuk is a softball coach and Slave Lake’s Ula Naszynska is part of the Mission Staff.

The Western Canada Summer Games run through August 18.
