Tuesday’s food bank drive on track to bring in same record-breaking numbers as last year
Organizers with the Rotary Community Food Bank Drive are blown away after another very successful canvassing event in support of the Salvation Army.
Lori Pollock, Co-Chair of the Rotary Community Food Bank Drive believes over 1,000 volunteers came out to help with the drive.
“We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the 2019 Community Food Bank Drive such a huge success. And that’s right from the organizers to every volunteer that went door to door and every community member that donated – we couldn’t have done it without you,” she said. “They definitely showed us their support again, it was just fantastic!”
Pollock says it’s too early for exact numbers right now, but they think they are on track with what they brought in last year which was a record-breaking 52 tonnes of donations.
