Peace Region farmers making progress on harvest

Oct 4, 2019 | 12:41 PM

Alberta Agriculture says as of Tuesday, 16 per cent of the Peace Country crop had been combined.

That is nearly double what was harvested the week before.

The newest crop report says 41 per cent of the peas, 18 per cent of the barley and wheat, 11 per cent of the oats, and nine per cent of the canola has been combined. More than half the canola had been swathed. Two percent of the wheat and barley and one percent of the oats was swathed.

The report adds showers, colder weather, and frost continued to interrupt harvest.
