Oct 25, 2019 | 6:04 AM

UPDATE (4:00 p.m. Friday): Environment Canada has ended the snowfall warnings issued earlier for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, and Valleyview areas, as well as the one for the BC Peace. A snowfall warning remains in place for Hinton and Grande Cache.

UPDATE (8:30 a.m. Friday): The snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge and Valleyview areas has been reinstated.

Environment Canada had ended the original snowfall warning early Friday morning. However, as snowfall continues to blanket the area, the warning is now back in place.

They say a low-pressure system that is currently developing could now bring 10 cm or more of snow today. The precipitation started out as rain this morning, but it will continue to change over to snow as temperatures drop. The snowfall is expected to ease by Saturday evening.

The warning also remains in effect for the Grande Cache and Kakwa Provincial Park areas. The B.C. Peace, including Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, are also under a snowfall warning.

Many reports of snow and ice-covered roads have been coming in this morning from all across the region. Check 511 Alberta for the latest road conditions as you plan your travel for Friday.
