Almost one-third of Peace Region crop still in the field

Almost one-third of the crop in the Peace Country will stay in the field all winter.

Alberta Agriculture, in its last crop report of 2019, says the Peace has the most unharvested acres in Alberta as 67.7 per cent of the crop in this area has been combined.

That compares to 89.6 per cent across the province.

The report says three weeks ago, there were a few days nice enough in some places for farmers to get back out in the field.

Twelve per cent of the crop in the Peace is still in the swath, 20 per cent was still standing before the snow.
