Alberta RCMP to limit public access to detachments, suspend non-critical services
Alberta RCMP are putting some changes in place in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Spokesman Fraser Logan says they will be limiting access to public spaces such as detachments.
“We’re asking the public to just stay home for anything that’s just non-urgent. If you do approach any of our detachments, you will see signage outside explaining essentially the same thing. There will be a number provided that’s specific to each detachment. You can phone that number, and it will connect you with an employee of the RCMP, or an RCMP officer that can answer your question.”
He says situations where someone is looking for fingerprinting will be discussed and the determination of whether it is critical will be decided over the phone.
