GPRC, Athabasca University partner to improve college’s online learning
Grande Prairie Regional College has inked a new partnership with Athabasca University that will the help the college improve its online learning platform and increase access to courses for students across the region.
The agreement will see GPRC merge its 700 online courses onto a new online platform over the summer, plus create an additional 26 course for online delivery for September 2020 with the guidance of AU.
“It is innovative partnerships such as this new agreement between GPRC and Athabasca University that will allow GPRC to achieve its goal of being more inclusive, modern and accessible for students across northern Alberta and beyond,” said Dr. Robert Murray, President and CEO of GPRC.
AU, known as “Canada’s Online University”, will aid in the design and develop of its online courses and help train and support educators and administrators in online education. The college adds in a release that this move will help provide students with a “modern, intuitive and interactive online learning platform.”
