Grande Prairie Public Library set to re-open on July 2 with “GPPL Express”
For the first time in over three months, the Grande Prairie Public Library will officially re-open its doors to the public on July 2.
The library has been shut down since March because of COVID-19, but now that the Province of Alberta has moved into Phase 2 of its reopening strategy, the library is once again ready to open and operate.
While closed to the public, the library continued to operate its regular services. Members were able to place their book orders online, where they could grab their books using a curbside pick up method. E-books were also made available online for those who are registered at the library.
The Grande Prairie Public Library tells EverythingGP that while they were given the green light to open back on June 12, they wanted to wait to put a smart and efficient plan in place in order to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.
