No more active cases of COVID-19 in Grande Prairie

Alberta Health says that as of the end of day June 22, all cases of COVID-19 in the City of Grande Prairie have recovered, leaving no active cases in the Swan City as of Tuesday.

The province added 45 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. There are now 532 active cases of the disease in Alberta, while 7,096 people are considered recovered.

Updated case numbers among Peace Region municipalities as of end of day June 22 are as follows:

  • City of Grande Prairie: 18 cases (All recovered)
  • County of Grande Prairie: Seven cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Greenview: Three cases (All recovered)
  • M.D. of Smoky River: 67 cases (57 recovered, ten deaths)
  • Big Lakes County: 40 cases (35 recovered, five deaths)
  • M.D. of Lesser Slave River: Five cases (All recovered)
  • Northern Sunrise County: Four cases (One active, three recovered)
  • M.D. of Peace: Six cases (All recovered)
  • Clear Hills County: Ten cases (All active)
  • County of Northern Lights: Zero cases
  • Mackenzie County: 35 cases (Two active, 33 recovered)

There were no new deaths reported in Alberta Tuesday from COVID-19, leaving the number of fatalities at 153.

Thirty-seven people are in hospital with COVID-19 in the province as of Tuesdaym with six of those individuals in ICU. There are two people in hospital in the North Zone, with one of those individuals in intensive care.

Over 6,500 tests were processed over the past 24 hours at the provincial lab, vaulting the total number of tests administered over 400,000 during the pandemic in Alberta. 28,647 people from northern Alberta have been tested as of Tuesday’s update.
