The Canadian Energy Regulator is recommending the federal cabinet approve a natural gas pipeline proposal for the Peace River area.
NOVA Gas Transmission’s North Corridor Expansion Project would be built in three sections and be a looped line 81-kilometres long. All but five kilometres would go along an existing right of way.
The CER has attached 34 conditions to the project that relate to dealings with Indigenous people, protecting caribou habitat, safety, construction standards, and environmental monitoring.
The CER heard from 22 participants during its review.
