Grande Prairie RCMP reminding drivers to adjust to winter conditions
The Grande Prairie RCMP has issued a warning to residents of the poor road conditions, and is asking motorists to slow down and adjust their driving.
The roadways have become icy and slippery, and there has also been reduced visibility as a result of the recent snowfall.
The RCMP is asking drivers to ensure all lights, mirrors and windows are clear of snow before travelling, and to make sure lights are turned on so other drivers can see you. The Mounties also ask drivers to plan to take longer during commutes, and to slow down when on the road.
As the weather becomes colder, the RCMP encourage drivers to have a blanket and fully stocked winter survival kit in their vehicles, especially when travelling out of town.
