Glenmary School in Peace River moving to at-home learning amid COVID-19 outbreak
The Holy Family Catholic Regional School Division says it is closing Glenmary School in Peace River to in-school learning until November 16, as there were four additional cases of COVID-19 confirmed within the school.
The division says the transition to at-home learning is effective Friday, November 6, and will continue for the full week next week.
The school announced two confirmed cases in adults earlier this week, which required a total of 19 staff members to self-isolate. With that, the division had shuttered in-class senior high school instruction effective November 3, which will now continue until November 16.
In a joint letter, HFCRD Superintendent Betty Turpin and Glenmary School Principal David Amiot say this is best decision for the school, as they anticipate the possibility of more cases being identified.
