Grande Prairie filmmaker to premiere inaugural STORYHIVE project

A Grande Prairie filmmaker is set to premiere her inaugural Telus STORYHIVE project later this week.

Mariah Braun’s short film “Life Without Diagnosis” will premiere during a virtual event on Thursday, February 25. The 16-minute short film focuses on the real-life journey of a local woman, Tiffany Clark, in her search for answers for an undiagnosed medical condition.

“I am beyond excited to share Tiffany’s story with the world. Releasing my first larger-scale film project is an incredible accomplishment for not only myself but my team as well,” said Braun.

“Tiffany’s story matters and I am very grateful that I was the one she allowed and trusted to tell it.”

The premiere is free to virtually attend and will happen at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25. Tickets for the event can be snagged on Eventbrite.

A Q&A portion will take place following the screening, with a panel that includes Braun, Clark, and Dr. Kenneth Markus MD, FRCOC, and Neurologist who is also featured in the film.

Along with this premiere, Braun has a second STORYHIVE project in the works. Her film ‘Able’ will focus on local woman Kiesha Mastrodimos, who became an incomplete quadriplegic following a car crash seven years ago.

“Similar to Life Without Diagnosis, we’ve seen incredible support from the community for our new film Able. We are currently in the planning stages but are set to start production March 1, 2021,” said Braun.
