Helena Buhler
February 15, 1926 to May 25, 2021 Age 95
In the early morning hours on May 25 God reached down and welcomed Helena Buhler our mom, grandma, and great grandma to heaven.
Helena was full of faith for all parts of her life. The Lord had shown her that when she prayed in faith for anything, whether it be something small or something big, like a weather miracle, He was always there to answer her.
Many times the prayer requests would come in, either from her church family or her natural family , and she would find that quiet place and bow her head and close her eyes and connect with Papa. “Dear Heavenly Father “she would say, and then she would pour out her heart. Her faith filled prayers were legendary among her children and grandchildren who were always going somewhere on the planet and they asked Helena to pray for them because they knew that when she prayed, Papa listened and brought them through whatever challenges they were facing.
Even though she had this amazing faith connection with God she also knew that He was firmly and lovingly in control of everything. Helena very often ended her prayers and conversations with “Lord willing “ceding all control back to Him. She trusted Him deeply and that was the core of her amazingly blessed life. She was and is a prayer warrior and we have great comfort knowing that she has graduated to the place where she can cheer us all on to have an overcoming and victorious life here on earth.
Our separation from her is only for a little while, for we still have our race to finish, and then Lord willing, we will be together again. Congratulations Helena, well done!
Helena was born in Halbstadt Manitoba. At grade 8 she was taking care of her family after her mom passed away. After moving to Abbotsford, BC with her family, she married Peter on March 13, 1949. Shortly thereafter they moved to Paraguay for 2 1/2 years. They moved back to Abbotsford and then over the years they lived in Grassy Plains, Grande Prairie, Abbotsford and then settled in Webster area north of Sexsmith, AB.
Helena is survived by and sorely missed by her 6 children, Larry (Shirley) Buhler, Delilah (Bob) Sterr, Elaine (John) Zaichkowsky, Sharon (Rikk) McGuire, Dean (Cheryl) Buhler and Dale (Dawn) Buhler; 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and counting.
