Reaching 41.5 degrees Tuesday, Grande Prairie sets all-time temperature record
For a third day in a row the City of Grande Prairie reached it’s hottest temperature ever recorded in the city’s history.
Environment Canada says temperatures at the Grande Prairie Airport topped out at 41.5 degrees Celsius on June 29, surpassing the record set on Monday with a maximum temperature of 38.4 degrees.
Monday’s high passed the previous record, set on Sunday, which reached a high of 36.1 degrees.
Previous to the ongoing heatwave, the record for hottest temperature recorded in the Swan City was 35.6, which was set on July 22, 2006.
