Advance polls open in County of Grande Prairie Wednesday

Advanced polls open Wednesday for the 2021 municipal election in the County of Grande Prairie.

Advance voting will take place between 4 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 13. Advance voting will also occur on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Advanced polling stations will be held at the TARA Centre at Evergreen Park, the Hythe Legion, and the Sexsmith Civic Centre.

Elections for council will be happening in the following divisions:

Division 1 (Amanda Frayn), Division 3 (Leanne Beaupre, Incumbent), Division 6 (Peter Harris, Incumbent), and Division 7 (Brian Peterson) have all been acclaimed.

However, the County does encourage all residents to head to the polls, regardless of whether their division has been acclaimed, as the election for school board trustees is also on the ballot.

There are also two referendum items and the Senate Election also on the municipal ballot.
