RCMP identify human remains located near Swanavon

An autopsy has been completed on a body found two weeks ago near the Swanavon neighbourhood.
Grande Prairie RCMP say they responded to a report on the evening of March 24th of human remains being located in the area of 102 Street and 92 Avenue.
The autopsy, which was completed by the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton, and found that the cause of the death was not suspicious.
The body was identified as being 33-year-old Shelly Smith of Grande Prairie, who had been reported missing back in December of 2021.
