Valleyview RCMP searching for two suspects following multiple copper wire thefts

Apr 21, 2022 | 11:05 AM

The Valleyview RCMP say they’re searching for two suspects in relation to multiple copper wire thefts from different oilfield sites in western Alberta, which has caused a significant amount of damage and a loss in revenue for companies.

Back in March 2021, Mounties in Valleyview developed leads linking a number of local individuals to multiple thefts which occurred in the Valleyview area.

Then on March 31, 2022, a search warrant was executed by the RCMP, Western Alberta Crime Reduction Unit and the Grande Prairie Police Dog Service at a residence in Valleyview.

The search warrant led to police locating and seizing copper wire, wire casings, break-in instruments, tools used to cut and strip copper wire and a previously stolen de-energizing pole specific to the oil field industry.

Police are searching for 43-year-old James Patrick Gosse and 41-year-old Danielle Marie Myler both of Valleyview. Each have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both are wanted by the RCMP in relation to these crimes.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact the Valleyview RCMP detachment at (780) 524-3345. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com, or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
