Chelsea was born on September 28, 1984, and passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 37.
Cherished and beloved wife of Jason Adler of Calgary, Alberta; proud mother to her two children, Charlotte Constance May Adler (7) and Jade Edith Marcia Adler (4); and deeply loved by father, Carl and brother, Chris. Chelsea was predeceased by her grandfathers, Kurt Hofmeister and Bill Gray; her uncle, Trevor Gray; and her mother, Constance Hofmeister (Gray).
Growing up, Chelsea loved twirling Baton and dance, only stopping after 11 years of competitions due to a broken femur, the result of a bad car accident.
Chelsea then went on to graduate in Cosmetology, earning her ticket and becoming a professional hairstylist. Chelsea was working and crafting friendships for over the next 12 years. During this time, Chelsea reconnected with her friend Kim, who talked her back into Baton, though this time as a coach and mentor. Kim was later instrumental in changing Chelsea’s life yet again by introducing her to her future husband, Jason.
Shortly after, Chelsea and Jason were married and welcomed their first child, Charlotte, into the world, followed soon after by their second, Jade. Sadly a few short months after introducing Constance to her second granddaughter, Constance passed away to Metastatic Breast Cancer. Chelsea took solace and comfort in knowing how happy she made her mother seeing her playing and spending time with her grandkids.
Less than one year later, Chelsea herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. Chelsea was a fighter and spurred by her never-ending love for her children, fought and managed to beat back her breast cancer with the help of 3 surgeries, chemo and radiation.
Always an advocate for others, Chelsea never stopped putting other people before herself despite the constant pain she was always in., the result of the chemo and radiation and the drugs she had to endure. Sadly, her victory over her cancer was short lived and it came back, eventually overpowering her body but never her spirit. Anyone who ever met her would not see that part of her life, only someone who was a loyal friend, supporter and overall, a mother who doted on her children, who is even now watching over them.
For those who wish, donations may be made to a GoFundMe page that has been set up to help support Jason and the girls and you can do that here GoFundMe.
A Celebration of Chelsea’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Glenmore Inn (1000 Glenmore Ct SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2E6) staring at 12:30 with a luncheon to follow. For those wishing to stay at the hotel, there are some rooms that have been blocked off.
