Additional charges in Slave Lake stabbings

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is still investigating three stabbings that took place in Slave Lake on Sunday, June 5.

A 22-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were found in the town with multiple injuries and were taken to local hospital. Police also located a deceased man during their initial search on Sunday. The homicide victim has now been identified as 49-year-old John Gabriel Constance Noskiye of Wabasca.

Twenty-five-year-old Evan Darcey Alook was arrested and initially charged with one count of attempted murder for one of the non-fatal stabbings.

He has been additionally charged with:

  • Second degree murder
  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault x2

Alook remains in custody until his next court appearance on June 22, 2022, in Slave Lake.

The matter is now before the courts and no more comments can be made by RCMP.
