Construction crews are continuing work on 84 Avenue

Construction Crews have closed 84 Avenue between Patterson Drive and Resources Road, to begin road work.

Construction on 84 Avenue between 100 Street and Patterson Drive is now completed and allows one lane of traffic each way.

Crews will now focus on repairs and replacements between Patterson Drive and Resources Road which will include:

• full reconstruction of the existing road structure
• full replacement of the curb and gutter, storm mains, and manhole structures
• installation of a smart right turn lane at the east to southbound turn at 84 Avenue and Resources Road
• replacing streetlights
• landscaping

Transit Route 2 will be rerouting Tuesday, July 26, to accommodate construction. Transit passengers for temporary stops 211 and 215 are asked to redirect to stops 209 (88 Avenue and 96 Street) and 219 (Poplar Drive and 79 Avenue).

In addition, the intersection of Patterson Drive and 84 Avenue is now a four-way stop with north and southbound traffic continuing to flow.

Pedestrians should expect detours while construction progresses due to the replacement of sections of sidewalks.
