Saddle Hills County gets $2 million for Central Peace Regional Water Treatment Plant
The provincial government has granted $2 million in funding for the proposed Central Peace Regional Water Treatment Plant in Saddle Hills County.
Through the Water for Life program, 90 per-cent of the costs for the phase of the project are now covered.
The Central Peace G5 Municipalities including Birch Hills County, the MD of Spirit River, Saddle Hills County, the Town of Spirit River, and the Village of Rycroft have all partnered in this effort.
The water treatment plant is the next phase. The current phase is in progress, with a new water supply intake and lift station on the Peace River by the Dunvegan Bridge as well as around 36 kilometers of new raw water pipeline to the Spirit River and Rycroft reservoirs.
