Team Gushue wins Pan Continental title
Canada’s Brad Gushue beat South Korea 11-3 in eight ends in the men’s final at the first-ever Pan Continental Curling Championships Sunday in Calgary.
Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker is the lead on the Gushue rink.
“You look at the Europeans (championships), and this is what they’re trying to model this event after. That has a lot of prestige for the European teams that go and compete in that, and I think this will get there,” said Gushue in a release from Curling Canada, adding “We’re still very proud of winning this. There are lots of good teams here, and we played really well. We’re going to give ourselves a little pat on the back.”
The Gushue rink also won the Grand Slam of Curling’s National in early October.
