Public feedback for municipal police force in Grande Prairie wanted by City
The City of Grande Prairie is continuing to reach out for public engagement about the potential of a municipal police force.
The City plans on hosting two public open houses for residents to attend and share their feedback directly with MNP, the community consultant for this project.
Both open houses will be held at the Teresa Sargent Hall in the Montrose Cultural Centre, on January 16 and 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This event is free to attend and will allow residents to learn more about the current state of policing in Grande Prairie, the similarities and differences between RCMP and a municipal police force, and how to move forward with contracting RCMP or establishing our own modern municipal force.
