City Hall still asking people to contact them if they see snow removal issues

EverythingGP has heard from some people in Grande Prairie about issues they have seen with snow removal.

This included driveways blocked by windrows, big snow piles, and a green electric box almost knocked over by plowed snow (pictured).

City Councillor Dylan Bressey describes snow removal as “a complex environment.”

“So sometimes mistakes do get made. If you notice something that doesn’t look quite right, please do contact the city. Call 311 or go to AccessGP and let our staff know so they can come out and fix it.”

Bressey says there are a lot of streets to plow in Grande Prairie and he still believes snow plow crews do a good job.

“If there’s been a mistake made and snow is where it is not supposed to be, then staff are quick to respond to that. So, if you see snow where it shouldn’t be, please do let our staff know so they can correct that.”

Bressey says there have been no policy changes made by the city when it comes to snow removal.

“It is just a complex environment where you have a whole bunch of operators out there doing the same thing and some might do it a little bit different than others.”

“But, for the most part, when the snow is done, our roads and our sidewalks should still be passable, so please do let us know if there is a mistake that you think has been made so staff can either get it fixed or they can tell you what the policy is.”
