Province grants over $700,000 to three regional agriculture societies

Three facilities within the County of Grande Prairie are receiving funding for improvements thanks to the Alberta government.

Finance Minister and Grande Prairie Wapiti MLA Travis Toews recently presented the La Glace Agricultural Society with a $500,000 Community Facility Enhancement Program grant towards construction of a new arena for the hamlet.

In a release, Toews says the project will improve opportunities for families to build their community through sports and recreation.

Two additional projects also received grants through the Community Initiatives Program:

• $26,551 to the Bezanson Agricultural Society towards hiring a coordinator to facilitate and implement promotion and marketing of events and projects within that community.
• $192,327 to the Hythe and District Agricultural Society towards construction of the Mustang Spray Park in the hamlet.
