County of Grande Prairie looking at new campsites, dock at Bear Lake Campground

The County of Grande Prairie is looking at making some changes at Bear Lake Campground that includes adding eight new pull-through, powered campsites and a watercraft dock with a kayak launch.

The total cost would be $241,200.

A recommendation that administration moved forward was sent to Council from a Committee of the Whole Meeting held on Thursday. The recommendation included administration asking for another $71,932 to cover the cost at final budget talks this spring.

Several other ideas will go to a future Committee of the Whole meeting.

Those include adding power to eleven existing campsites, having on-site potable water, repairing the boat launch, adding a sanitation dump, and work to control the water level in the lake.
