Valleyview Health Centre re-opens more services

May 18, 2023 | 5:50 PM

UPDATE:

More services have re-opened at the Valleyview Health Centre.

Now, laboratory and diagnostic imaging appointments, and walk-in x-ray services are all currently up and running.

All pre-booked appointments for these services will go forward as planned, appointments can be booked online by clicking here, or by calling 1-877-702-4486.

Anyone who missed an appointment due to the wildfires in the area will be contacted by AHS to reschedule.

Booking appointments for the Outpatient clinic is also resuming, to contact that clinic, contact 780-524-3356.

AHS will assess access to walk-in lab’s over the next week.

The Valleyview Health Centre will re-open tonight (Thursday, May 18) at 8 p.m. after closing due to the wildfire evacuation in the community on May 15.

However, Alberta Health Services says because patient care and safety remain AHS’s top concern, no additional services will be opened at this time. This means inpatient admissions, lab services, diagnostic imaging, and mental and public health appointments will remain paused or postponed.

EMS will remain in the area, continuing to serve the community and transport patients to alternate facilities, if needed.

AHS is also contacting patients and continued care patients’ families and loved ones, providing updates on their well-being and location. If you haven’t been contacted, call Healthlink at 811 if you’re looking for information on a patient, or if your looking for a continuing care resident, call 1-855-371-4122.
