Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED closing for 12 hours

AHS has announced the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department will be without a physician from 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, to 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 3.

Nursing staff will remain on-site to assess patients, provide urgent triage if necessary, or refer patients to a neighboring community hospital.

Patients are still asked to call 911 during this closure, as EMS remains available with calls being rerouted to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Depending on needs, AHS also reminded residents about services available through local pharmacies.

AHS said in a release that it is working hard to ensure residents have continued access to the care they need.
