Snow Removal

City winter operations starting in November

The City of Grande Prairie has sent out a release, providing an update on the transition to winter operations.

Full winter operations are set to get underway on November 5, with the City reminding residents to sign up for AccessGP to receive custom texts updating them on snow removal.

Over the course of the winter, the City will conduct snow removal operations using priority status, with high-traffic roads, also known as “Priority One Roads”, being done first.

They will be followed by residential clearing and then rural service area snow clearing, which will be conducted on an as-needed basis.

Anyone with questions about snow removal is asked to contact Access GP by calling 311. Anyone wanting more information about snow removal can visit the City’s website.
