Stompede Association hands out awards a BUSTOUT BBQ

“This year’s winner has been an integral part of our wonderful event for over 20-plus years, in various portfolios over those many years,” Dennis says. “Thay have truly shined. It’s unfortunate [Stompers] are sometimes overlooked until you need them.”

Dan Seiben was on hand to name Steve Pavlov as the 2024 Wagon Master in recognition of his long history with the Stompede.

“During the Stompede this week, you can catch him down in the arena most days assisting with the Classroom in the Dirt program, in which over 360 kids will be exposed to the inner workings of a rodeo and get to try some of the rodeo events,” Seiben told the gathering.

Pavlov thanked the association for the honour and expressed his admiration for rodeo sports despite being originally from Ontario.

“I’m very, very proud and honoured to accept this position and hope to fulfill it well, and I’m very happy to see how this rodeo has grown from my time in the late 80s and early 90s'” says Pavlov, adding, ” So, without further adieu, Let’s Rodeo!”

Zedcor Energy was named Business of the Year.

The Stompede is on at Evergreen Park from Wednesday until Sunday.
