Bonnetts Energy Centre serving as an evacuee reception centre

Jul 23, 2024 | 2:23 PM

As wildfires force people from their homes in the Rocky Mountains; the Grande Prairie Emergency Partnership is sharing information for any Jasper evacuees en route to Grande Prairie.

Evacuees can register at the Bonnetts Energy Centre, which is acting as a reception centre. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday, July 23) and tomorrow. (Wednesday, July 24)

GPREP Director of Emergency Management Dan Lemieux said they “strongly encourage evacuees to register as soon as possible so they can access food and lodging at no cost.”

Anyone wanting more information about the reception centre can call GPREP at 780-830-5002.
