The September 24 crop report from AFSC says that just over 67 per cent of the Peace Region crop had been harvested as of that date.

The September 17 report said that harvest in the Peace was just over 50 per cent done.

The five-year average completion percentage for September 24 is 43.8 while the 10-year average is 41.7 per cent.

The completion percentage by crop is just under 99 per cent for dry peas, just over 80 per cent for spring wheat, 74.5 per cent for barley, 65.6 per cent for oats and 50.5 per cent for canola.

AFSC says yields are a bit above the five-year average, with the crop yield index at `02.3 per cent of that average.

Close to 81 per cent of the spring wheat and 88 per cent of the oats are in the top two grades. Two per cent of the barley is malt quality while 74 per cent is grading number 1. For canola, 56 per cent is coming off number 1, with another 25 per cent number 2.

Since that September 24 report was compiled, there have been over 10 millimetres of rain, including 6.9 millimetres that fell on Monday. There was also half a millimetre of rain on Tuesday. Ten millimetres of rain is close to four-tenths.
