Odyssey House appoints new executive director

Jan 14, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Odyssey House women’s shelter has announced a change in leadership.

Lisa Watson has stepped down as executive director after five years on the job.

Mikaela Peters will be taking over from Watson.

Odysseey House says Peters has a background in leadership, psychology, and human resources, and is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

Peters says she looks forward to working with Odyssey House’s team and board, as well as collaborating with community partners.

She officially took over from Watson on December 23 2024.

During Watson’s time, Odyssey House supported over 1,100 women and over 900 children through their programs like the 24-hour crisis line, 1:1 support and group sessions, and launched new projects like Grande Con and the 100 Families Initiative.

Odyssey House Board Chair Jenna Canavan says Watson’s leadership has made a lasting impact and is wishing her the best in her future endeavors.
