Charges approved against five for stolen vehicle and pointing firearms

Five people have charges sworn against them for a complex matter involving a stolen vehicle and pointing firearms this past Wednesday in the Fort St John area.

On February 19, Mounties in Fort St. John were made aware that a truck had been stolen from a residential driveway within the city limits that morning.

Police received two reports later the same day that the stolen truck had been located by civilians stuck near Montney, B.C. Reports also included that firearms were being pointed at civilians who had located the stolen truck.

Numerous suspects were travelling in and alongside the stolen vehicle.

RCMP officers attended the location and set up a contained area, and due to the reports of firearms present, brought in the North District Response Team was called in to assist. A partner civilian drone was also used to assist in locating the suspects.

Five people were arrested as a result, including a man who had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Three vehicles, including the stolen truck, were seized as well.

Multiple charges against the five individuals have since been approved.

Gavin Davis, who was arrested on outstanding warrants, was remanded into custody and will appear in court on March 6, 2025. His charges are:

  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
  • Robbery
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Breach of Release Order
  • Uttering Threats

Jack Capot Blanc, was remanded into custody and is set to be in court on February 25, 2025. His charges are:

  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
  • Pointing a Firearm at a Person

Shianne Etzerza was released on a Release Order with a future court date of February 24, 2025. She faces one charge of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.

Barbara Reno is also facing one charge of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000. She was released on a Release Order and is due in court February 24, 2025.

Jakob Sherwood was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, was released on a Release Order, and is set to be in court on February 24, 2025.
