The federal government has made some funding announcements related to agriculture recently and some of the money is coming to the to the Peace.

One of the announcements is $116 million to 119 projects across the country under the Agricultural Clean Technology Program.

Seven farms in five different communities in the Peace will be getting help buying grain dryers.

Another five farms in four different communities will be getting money to help add precision agriculture technology to their operations.

Value-added projects in Alberta are sharing $1.8 million from Prairies Economic Development Canada.

One of the four projects getting money is in northwestern Alberta.

The Mackenzie Applied Research Association will get $262,024 for what the government calls in a release β€œto expand research and learning opportunities aimed at enhancing farming practices.”

This is meant to help the group start using farming practices that are climate resilient, plus offer workshops and other ways for farmers to learn about things like precision and regenerative agriculture.
