Teepee Creek Stampede rodeo winners: Grande Prairie cowboys wins third title of the weekend

It was quite a weekend for Grande Prairie steer rider Ryder Topolinski. 

After winning the junior steer riding at the Calgary Stampede on Saturday, Topolinski had a score of 71 at Sunday’s steer riding go round at the Teepee Creek Stampede to take first place. 

He also competed at the Bowden Daze Rodeo Friday night, winning there with a score of 80. 


Other winners at the rodeo in Teepee Creek included:

  • Eckville’s Ben Anderson in saddle broncs,
  • Ty Taypotat of Nanton in bareback,
  • Tate and Kagen Schmidt of Barrhead in team roping,
  • Kyle Lucas of Carstairs in tie-down roping,
  • Pamela Morrison from Celesta, B.C. in barrel racing,
  • Longview’s Kylie Whiteside in breakaway roping,
  • Trey Shadlock of Debden, Saskatchewan in novice saddle bronc,
  • Kahl Wasilow of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan in bull riding. 

Scott Guenther of Provost and Steven Gilbert of Entwistle tied for first in steer wrestling. 

There were no qualified rides in the novice bareback event. 

Grande Prairie’s Jennifer Neudorf finished fourth in barrel racing. Grande Prairie’s Auzyn Corr was fifth in bull riding. 

Also in Bowden, Grimshaw’s Denver Leitch wound up fourth in bareback. Fort St.John’s Stephen Culling tied for fourth in steer wrestling. Neudorf was tenth in barrels.
