Grande Prairie skateboard park set for expansion

Oct 25, 2017 | 11:18 AM

The proposed skateboard park expansion in Muskoseepi Park may get underway in spring.

The skateboard association met Tuesday night, and president Drew Rogers wants the public to have their say on the expansion.

“They’re going to be putting an online feedback form out there as well in the near future,” he said. “We’ll get feedback about what people think of the concept drawings.”

“The next step will be a 3D rendering of what the skateboard park expansion … Will actually look like.”

Rogers mentioned three options for future development, which comes with a $400,000 budget.

“They (Newline Skateparks) talked about how they would lay it out,” he said.

“There are multiple options. We could talk about smaller parks and a big one, and what parts of the city we want to see them in.”

He said construction may begin in the spring, with an opening date of summer 2018.
