Fairview hosting first-ever Northernlink Agriculture & Home Show

Apr 5, 2018 | 5:30 AM

The first-ever Northernlink Agriculture and Home Show gets going today in Fairview.

“We did it, for the most part, because we felt that Fairview lacked a good, community event like this. On top of that, the Freidenstal Historical Society wanted to do something to raise money,” says Paul Buck, one of the show organizers.

He adds it has attracted close to 90 exhibitors.

“Not bad for a trade show that was organized on January 10, so we’re really happy with being able to fill up the (Fairplex) Arena with agriculture and filling up the Legion (Hall) with the home show.”

Buck says organizers are hopeful Northernlink can be held every second year in the future, in years when the Smoky River Agricultural Show in Falher does not take place.

“The farmers are going to love it just because every major company is here. The kids will love it because we have a massive bouncy castle that’s going to be all sorts of fun and then, everybody else will like the home show.”

Hours will be noon to 6 today, 10-6 tomorrow, and 10 to 5 Saturday. There is no admission charge.
