May 3 marks Arbor Day

Close to 1800 Grade 1 kids from around the Peace went home with a tree seedling Thursday.
 
This marked is Arbor Day, a day set aside to celebrate the importance of trees.
 
More celebrations are coming up locally in the coming days.
 
The annual Walk Through the Forest is set for Monday through Wednesday at the Wapiti Nordic Trails.
 
More than 1000 Grade 6 kids from the Peace will learn about various forestry topics from a number of volunteer teachers.
 
Grande Prairie’s Isabel Campbell School will host a ceremonial tree plant May 17.
