Thick, black smoke filled the air over Grande Prairie's east side Tuesday afternoon after a house fire.

Emergency crews were called just before 4:00 p.m. to the find the home fully engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to get the flames under control despite strong winds.

The home, located just behind the Shopper's Drug Mart in the Cobblestone area, was destroyed.

The fire also melted the siding on the houses on either side.
No one was injured from the blaze.

At this time there is no indication of what caused the fire.
