Jul 13, 2018 | 12:54 PM

Wagons with Peace Country connections recorded the two fastest times of the night last night at the Calgary Stampede.

Mark Sutherland was first, Mike Vigen’s outfit second. Chanse Vigen has been driving dad Mike’s wagon all week.

The results move those two into a tie for second in the aggregate behind Kurt Bensmiller.

They are followed by Vern Nolin, Rick Fraser, Jason Glass, Logan Gorst, and Stompede champion Evan Salmond.

The top eight after tonight will move into tomorrow’s semi-finals, with the Rangeland Derby champion to be decided Sunday.

At Teepee Creek, Lane Kimble was the fastest rig on Night 1 for the Western Chuckwagon Association. Derek Aebly, Rick McRorie, and Riley Letendre round out the top four.

Wagon racing in Teepee continues through Sunday.
