Grande Prairie Forest Area wildfire hazard at high

The province has increased the wildfire hazard in the Grande Prairie Forest Area to high.

With dry and windy conditions forecasted for the next couple of days, fire ignitions will become more likely allowing for fast-growing wildfires.

Of the 32 wildfires so far in the area, only six of them are a result of lightning. The rest were human-caused.

There are currently no fire advisories, restrictions or fire bans in place.
