Jul 23, 2018 | 6:42 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm continue to gear up for the 2018-2019 season, and on Friday the club announced they have signed 2001 born Tyson Upper.

Upper has spent the past four season developing with the Edge School Hockey Program and spent last season with the Edge Midget Prep team.

This is where the Calgary product put up 11 goals and 18 assists in 33 games.

Head Coach and Associate General Manager of the Grande Prairie Storm, Matt Keillor, spoke highly of their newest signing in a press release sent out by the team.

“He’s got an unbelievable amount of potential. He possesses that rare explosive speed, that extra gear that’s very dangerous. He’s very young but has a maturity in his game, he has a high ceiling and we are very excited to see what that will look like.”

The Storm will open up their training on August 24th at Revolution Place.
