Bensmiller wins 2nd career Strathmore Stampede Championship

The 2018 Strathmore Stampede wrapped up Monday, and it was a familiar face finishing atop the leaderboard.

Kurt Bensmiller won his second career Strathmore Stampede Championship after posting the best four day aggregate time of 5:04.48.

Bensmiller finished 1.76 seconds ahead of defending champion Gary Gorst.

2018 Grande Prairie Stompede Champion Evan Salmond had a strong performance finishing in third.

Mitch Sutherland finished 5th overall, Kirk Sutherland 6th.

Eric Rever topped the Western Chuckwagon Association aggregate at the North Peace Stampede. Ron Bolin, Dean Dreger, and Rick McRorie rounded out the top four.

Heavy rain forced the cancellation of Saturday’s races in Grimshaw

The WPCA Pro Tour will now have a quick turn around and will be racing at the Battle of the North in Dawson Cree beginning on Wednesday, August 8th, and concluding on Sunday, August 12th.
