Big weekend in Dawson Creek for wagon drivers Kimble, Knight

Aug 13, 2018 | 7:59 AM

Lane Kimble is this year’s Western Chuckwagon Association tour champion.

He clinched the title over the weekend at the Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede.

Kimble also won the Dash for Cash on the final night of racing.

St. Walburg, Saskatchewan’s Ross Knight has captured his first-ever win on the WPCA circuit.

Knight won the championship final off barrel number four at Dawson Creek’s Battle of the North last night.

Codey McCurrach actually crossed the line first but was given a one-second penalty for his wagon being ahead of the barrel at the start of the race.

Knight’s outriders were Chance Flad and Casey Knight.

The WPCA season wraps up this coming weekend in Rocky Mountain House.
