Wildfire danger at very high for Grande Prairie Forest Area

The Grande Prairie Forest Area wildfire danger is at very high.

Hot, dry temperatures for the next couple of days will allow for favorable conditions for wildfire ignition and spread.

The existing fire advisory remains in place for the Grande Prairie area.

The wildfire danger is also at very high for the Slave Lake and Peace River areas.

So far this fire season, Alberta has had 1,158 fires burn a total of 58,064.43 hectares.

Additionally, expect smoke from wildfires burning in B.C. to drift into the Peace Region this evening, lingering into Tuesday.
