UPDATE: One lane re-opened on Highway 40 after multi-vehicle collision

October 10: One lane has been re-opened to traffic
October 9: Highway 40 is closed in both directions following a multi-vehicle collision.
RCMP say the road will be closed for an extended period of time and officers are expected to be on the scene overnight. A collision analyst is being deployed to the scene as well.
Police were dispatched to the area 42 kilometres north of Highway 16 at 8:19 p.m.
