Kings lose heart breaker to Huskies

Oct 22, 2018 | 6:38 AM

The JDA County Kings haven’t had much puck luck to begin the 2018-2019 season, and unfortunately for the club, that trend continues Sunday afternoon in their home game against Fort St.John.

Despite outshooting the Huskies 53-24, they fell 5-4 which resulted in them dropping to 1-7 on the campaign.

Near the midway point of the third period, the Kings trailed 4-2.

However, they clawed their way back and evened up the game on a powerplay goal with 3:19 remaining.

Right when it looked like the Kings had all of the momentum, the Huskies would score the game-winning goal just 1:07 after the Kings evened the game as Fort St.John earned the two points.

With the loss, the Kings drop to 1-7 on the year.

They will be back on the ice Saturday at home when they welcome Fort St.John to the County Sportsplex for a re-match.

The Huskies on the other hand now sit at 4-3 on the year and return to the ice Wednesday when they host Dawson Creek.
