Storm knock off Bobcats for 21st win of season

Jan 17, 2019 | 7:15 AM

The Grande Prairie Storm got back in the win column Wednesday night in convincing fashion as they clobbered the Lloydminster Bocats 9-2 at Revolution Place.

Overall it was a complete effort from the Swan city bunch, who found the back of the net once in the 1st, four times in the 2nd, and four more times in the 3rd.

Noah Corson had another strong performance for the Storm in Wednesday’s win.

The 20-year-old found the back of the net twice and registered two assists.

Vincent Milot-Oullet and newcomer Jarin Sutton also had four-point nights as well, as both registered a goal and three helpers.

Despite the lop-sided result, goaltender Kaeden Lane had to be sharp in between the pipes for the Storm.

The 17-year-old made 28 saves in the win.

With the win, the Storm sit with a 21-20-2 record on the year and remain 5th in the AJHL’s North division.

Grande Prairie won’t have to wait long before returning to the ice.

The Storm will welcome their Highway 43 rivals, the Whitecourt Wolverines to Revolution Place Friday night to kick off a home and home between the two North division clubs.
